As I research my family history, I am amazed at the stories and the rich history of the church and the community of Wien, and would like very much to preserve and to share the information I discover. Although I have good intentions, you may find that I am very slow in adding information to this site. Please bear with me and I will try to alert you to new information, through notes on the home page.
A Big Thank you to all those who have
helped and encouraged the development of this website through kind
words, inquiries, contributed information, ideas, and interest of
any kind.
I continue to be interested in ideas, information and pictures
of Wien, past and present. I am especially interested in posting
information (pictures, obituaries, histories) of those early families
that came to Wien, the decade in which they came, and their past
cities/countries of residence. Stories from Great Grandmas and
Grandpa's would be greatly appreciated.
I would be pleased
to present links to Family Websites or to Personal Pages that are
related to Wien ancestry. Also I am hoping that someone has a photo
of the log church built in 1873 and utilized as a school between 1877
and 1897 when the frame school was built in Wien. I believe that some
of Wien's residents went to St. Louis in 1901 for the National
Eucharistic Congress. I would love to "scan" any memorabilia from
that Congress and would like to know if you think someone in your
family went. You can email
me from this page or from the Home page.
Until next time,
